This has not been a great week for Dwayne Haskins, and his performance on Sunday only cemented a forgettable stretch for the second-year quarterback.

The week started with the news that Haskins had violated protocol and was consequently stripped of his captain’s role with the Washington Football Team. Despite that news, Haskins was thrust into Sunday’s starting role due to an injury with Alex Smith.

The game did not go well with Haskins turning the ball over three times in the first half as Washington fell behind 20-3. Making matters worse, a win would have put the Football Team on the cusp of the playoffs.

Haskins went 14-for-28 passing with 154 yards, two interceptions, and a fumble before getting benched for third-string quarterback Taylor Heinicke in the second half. Making matters, worse Heinicke proved to be effective, completing 12-of-19 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown in the Washington loss.

After the game, Haskins initially declined to meet the media, via multiple reporters. He eventually reversed course and met with the media, discussing what has been a trying week.
