Dwayne Haskins came up with the clutch plays needed to get a win Sunday, but he made one “mistake” at the very end of the game.

During Washington’s game against Detroit, Haskins made just enough plays to get his team in position to win the game. A late third-down conversion to Terry McLaurin provided all the distance needed to kick a game-winning field goal.

However, with 16 seconds left, Detroit received the ensuing kickoff with a shot to tie or win the game. That drive did not last long with Washington recording a quick interception, providing an opportunity for Haskins to kneel out the final play of the game.

The only problem? Haskins was nowhere to be found. According to Washington interim coach Bill Callahan, Case Keenum took the final snap because Haskins was taking selfies with fans.

John Keim and Michael Phillips shared Callahan’s comments:

Hopefully, Haskins improves and records more wins in the near future. Maybe next time he’ll stay in the game until the final whistle.
