Dwayne Haskins wishes former Clemson QB Kelly Bryant good luck on transfer
Welcome to college football in 2018.
This appears to be a hot, new trend: quarterbacks transferring after being benched or losing a battle for the starting job.
It’s happened in the Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, any conference you look — it’s almost happened everywhere recently. On Wednesday, after it was announced that Clemson freshman QB Taylor Lawrence had overtaken the starting job from senior Kelly Bryant, Bryant decided he wants to transfer:

Could Bryant wait it out and see if an injury takes place? Maybe Lawrence proves that just isn’t ready yet after a week or two. That’s certainly possible, no?

Apparently not to Bryant. He didn’t take the news lightly that he was being demoted:
"I've never been a distraction. I've never been in trouble with anything. To me, it was kind of a slap in the face."

Bryant has done a lot at Clemson. He’s taken them to a College Football Playoff in the past and has somewhat had to wait his turn after throwing just 18 total passes his first couple years.
Now it’s his senior season and he’s ready to go. Except for the fact that the No. 1 overall recruit in 2018 is ready, too.
Clemson made its choice. And now Bryant has as well.
Bryant is eligible to redshirt 2018 and transfer to another school, giving him another final year at a different school. This is possible now because Bryant has only appeared in 4 games this season.
The rule changed over the offseason that a player could appear in 4 games and still redshirt a season as opposed to not being able to play a single snap and still redshirt.
With the news that Bryant is heading out, Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins sent out a kind gesture on Twitter:
Best of luck to big bro 🙏 https://t.co/XxghfA0VNe

Haskins is understanding. Some of the college football world?
Probably not as much.
