Eddrick Houston is heading north to play Big Ten football. The elite defensive lineman from Georgia has committed to play for Ohio State.

Houston picked up scholarship offers from 22 schools during his recruitment. He narrowed it down to Ohio State, USC, Alabama, Clemson and Georgia for Tuesday’s big announcement, choosing the Buckeyes.

A Buford standout, Houston is listed as measuring 6-3, 265 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Houston is rated 5-stars, the No. 4 defensive lineman, No. 6 recruit in the state of Georgia and No. 23 prospect overall in the Class of 2024.

Houston visited his 5 finalists over May and June. He documented his trip to Ohio State on social media.

Ohio State’s 2023 recruiting class

Ohio State has long been a recruiting juggernaut, but it never gets old going into the heart of SEC country and beating out the likes of Georgia and Alabama for a 5-star prospect. Larry Johnson just landed a big fish on the recruiting trail, and it would hardly be a surprise if Houston contributes as a freshman when he arrives in Columbus.
