Ohio State is keeping one of the top in-state players at home.

Saturday afternoon, four-star defensive tackle and the No. 2 player from the state of Ohio Darrion Henry has given his verbal commitment to Ohio State. That’s another huge addition to the 2020 class for Ryan Day and his staff, and the second significant pickup of the day.

Henry made his decision in a live announcement on Facebook Live. Henry had over 30 offers, but picked the Buckeyes over LSU, Tennessee, Georgia, Cincinnati and several others. He’s the 15th player to commit in the 2020 cycle.

According to 247Sports, Henry is one of the top 125 players in the cycle, coming in at No. 121. In addition to being the second-best player out of the Buckeye State, he’s also listed as the 11th-best defensive tackle in the class.

With Henry’s commitment, Ohio State has climbed into the No. 4 spot in the national recruiting rankings, passing Georgia. It owns the B1G’s top class. Clemson, Alabama and LSU currently have the top three classes nationally.

Henry becomes the ninth top 200 prospect to commit to the Buckeyes. Earlier in the day, Ohio State received a commitment from four-star linebacker and New Jersey native Cody Simon. He was the first linebacker of 2020 to commit to OSU.
