Another Buckeye is reportedly in hot water with the law.

According to NBC Sports’ Craig Calcaterra, Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott was cited in a car crash before the team left for the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona. Calcaterra reported that Elliott was cited for driving with a suspended license.

According to Columbus WTTE, the report was confirmed by Columbus Police, which said that the Ohio State tailback “was cited driving under suspension, operating without a license, and failure to control, and that he told police the accident was the result of him hydoplaning out of control.”

The immediate question was whether or not Elliott would face suspension for the Fiesta Bowl. According to Eleven Warriors’ Eric Seger, the citation won’t affect the B1G Offensive Player of the Year’s status for Friday’s game.

There wasn’t believed to be anybody with Elliott at the time of the crash.

The citation was the second one to a Buckeye starter since the regular-season finale against Michigan. Adolphus Washington was cited for soliciting a prostitute three weeks ago and was suspended for the Fiesta Bowl. J.T. Barrett was also cited in the middle of the season for driving under the influence of alcohol and he was suspended for a game.

This was Elliott’s response to the coverage on Monday morning.
