With star wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba locked down by the defense of Notre Dame, the offense of Ohio State needed to adapt. Egbuka was the leading receiver for Ohio State as he caught nine receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown.

The other receiver to account for a reception touchdown was Xavier Johnson, who Egbuka complemented after his performance. He also said it can be easy for the receivers to have a good game with Heisman Trophy contender quarterback CJ Stroud throwing them the ball.

Stroud completed 24-of-34 of his passes for 223 yards, two touchdowns and a QBR of 89.5.
