Emeka Egbuka shares how Ohio State is preparing for emotions leading up to The Game
Emeka Egbuka knows what is on the line this weekend against Michigan and acknowledged that Ohio State will have to stay controlled leading up to The Game. Last year, Ohio State lost in Ann Arbor which was something new for the Buckeyes after winning the last 7 in a row.
Egbuka already understands the emotion surrounding this game despite being a sophomore and last year’s experience has provided a lot of incentive for the team to come into this game with the right mindset. From the off-season until now, the Buckeyes have had several young players take leadership roles to hold each other accountable.
Emeka Egbuka said Ohio State needs to control its emotions toward The Game early in the week, letting them build until kickoff against Michigan.
"We're letting those emotions stir up and bottle up, and then we're gonna let them fly on Saturday."

He suggested during Tuesday’s press conference that he has been playing somewhat limited this season but this version of Ohio State understands that everyone is going through the same thing. The mentality of this Buckeye team has been a major point of focus with the players trying to prepare one another for the season.

Emeka Egubka believes Ohio State had "gotten into a lull" with The Game because it was beating Michigan year after year. But then the Wolverines struck back in 2021.
"That was a wake-up call for us. Now the rivalry is back in full force, and we are ready to take them on."

A lot of focus has been put on The Game not only because it is one of the most historic rivalries in all of college football but also because of the national implications surrounding it. Both teams are ranked in the top 3 and the loser of this game will not likely make the College Football Playoff without a lot of help.
