A few college football teams have separated from the rest of the pack early in the season. But one ESPN analyst believes Alabama and Ohio State are on another level.
Thursday, Emmanuel Acho of ESPN joined the Paul Finebaum Show to talk about the best teams in the sport as we approach the midway point of the season. He believes the Crimson Tide and Buckeyes are playing at an elite level right now, and nobody else in the country can touch them.
Acho put Alabama and Ohio State in a “Tier 1” category and Oklahoma and Clemson in “Tier 2.” He said Georgia is somewhere between the two.

Alabama has dominated everyone on its schedule this season, winning every game by at least three touchdowns. Ohio State is coming off its toughest test of the season, defeating Penn State 27-26 in Happy Valley.
Georgia, Clemson, Oklahoma and Notre Dame have also been mentioned as CFB Playoff contenders this season. But, according to Acho, the two best teams in the sport are way ahead of the rest of the field.
Alabama travels to Arkansas this week while Ohio State hosts Indiana.
