With Ohio State and Alabama set to butt heads in Miami Gardens for the sport’s biggest prize, the network’s sizzle reel smokes with intensity as the final hours and minutes count down to the football going up one last time.

“On Monday night, in a new year, we’ll crown a champions we’ll never forget, of the season we’ll always remember,” the video’s narrator says.

In the ultimate strange year the championship has boiled down to the usual suspects. Ohio State at 7-0 is playing for the program’s 9th claimed national championship, and first since 2014 during the new playoff’s first appearance. The Crimson Tide are playing for their 18th claimed title, the fifth of the Nick Saban era, and first since the 2017 CFP.

The game kicks at 8 pm ET from Hard Rock Stadium and will be broadcast in multiple formats across the ESPN family of networks.
