ESPN’s FPI is back with more season-long projections for the 2023 college football season! That includes a look at Ohio State’s schedule, the team that enters the fall with the No. 1 spot on the Football Power Index.

Despite losing to Michigan in the regular season and Georgia in the College Football Playoff, the Buckeyes lead the FPI. However, Ohio State is 3rd in the 2023 National Championship odds, trailing only 2-time champion Georgia and Nick Saban’s Alabama program.

Within the B1G, Ohio State maintains the best Big Ten Championship odds and is also the FPI’s pick to win the league this season. Buckeye fans looking to get in on those preseason odds can take advantage of our Caesars Ohio promo code.

When it comes to the FPI game-by-game predictions for the season, the Buckeyes are favored in every matchup this fall, including on the road against archrival Michigan. However, that game is far and away the toughest matchup on the schedule per the FPI projections.

Ohio State is given better than 90% odds in 8 of the 12 games this season. The FPI also gives the Buckeyes a 31.6% chance to go undefeated this season and a 74.4% chance to make the College Football Playoff.

Regardless of how the end of last season played out, Ohio State is back as one of the most talented teams in the country. The QB battle continuing this week remains an area of concern, but that one concern is not enough to dampen projections for Ryan Day’s program.
