A lot of the talk regarding Ohio State and the 2021 NFL Draft has circled around quarterback Justin Fields. There are plenty of other names to be discussing with the event now less than two months away.
Speaking on projections for the upcoming draft, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. was asked where cornerback Shaun Wade and offensive lineman Wyatt Davis might fall. Right now, the draft expert doesn’t believe either player is a first-round selection.
Per Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch, Kiper is projecting both Wade and Davis as second- or third-round selections when the NFL Draft rolls around. He believes that Fields will be the Buckeyes’ lone Day 1 selection this year.
ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has Justin Fields as the only Ohio State player going in the first round. On Zoom call, I asked about Wyatt Davis and Shaun Wade. Projects both as 2-3 rd picks. Said Baron Browning and Trey Sermon have risen on boards as possible 3rd-rounders.

Kiper also offered an assessment of linebacker Baron Browning and running back Trey Sermon. He believes both players are rising right now, and could go as high as the third round.
With no NFL Scouting Combine this year, there are a limited number of opportunities for players to improve their draft stock. Buckeyes looking to make the leap to the next level will get their shot on March 30, when the program will host its pro day.
