ESPN’s SP+ is predicting the outcome of all the college football action in Week 3. That includes Ohio State’s matchup against Western Kentucky.

While the Hilltoppers feature an up-tempo offense that has produced some electric passing numbers, the SP+ does not give the team much of a chance in Columbus. The system developed by Bill Connelly gives Ohio State a 97% win probability in the matchup with a predicted final score of 46-12.

The spread ahead of the game is Ohio State -27.5, so the SP+ does expect the Buckeyes to cover the large number at home. Fans looking to take part in the action can use our special Caesars Ohio promo code to get started.

Heading into the matchup, Ohio State has a firm decision for QB1 moving forward. Kyle McCord was handed the reins to the offense this week, and he’ll look to find some efficiency and consistency before a road test against Notre Dame in Week 4.

While the SP+ does not foresee the game being close, defensive coordinator Jim Knowles is not taking anything lightly for the matchup. At his weekly press conference, Knowles said he expects the Western Kentucky offense to provide “a big test” for his unit.

So far, Ohio State has not seen an offense that will try and stretch the field like the Hilltoppers, so the first half of the game could provide some interesting moments. We’ll see if it provides the Buckeye pass-rushers a chance to get heated up early.
