ESPN’s SP+ predicts the College Football Playoff Semifinal games

The College Football Playoff is quickly approaching!
Teams are still preparing and getting ready for the semifinal matchups which are slated for Dec. 28. That is about a week and a half away with some great matchups in store.
No. 1 LSU will get ready and face off against No. 4 Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl. The Tigers are led by Heisman winning QB Joe Burrow, but it will be interesting to see if he can buck recent trends. The last Heisman winner to also win the National Championship was Derrick Henry and Alabama in 2015.
No. 2 Ohio State will face No. 3 Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl in what is a rematch of the 2016 Fiesta Bowl semifinal that was a 31-0 shutout for the Tigers. This time around, the Buckeyes have three players that finished in the top six for Heisman voting.
As we get set for the games, Bill Connelly with ESPN shared the SP+ picks for all the bowl games. Here is how the system is projecting the CFP:
- Peach Bowl: LSU 37, Oklahoma 31
- Fiesta Bowl: Ohio State 30, Clemson 24
Will we get a Joe Burrow vs Ohio State CFP Final? Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see.
SP+ BOWL PICKS
* GUHHHH, I hate these lines so much. So much “favorite -3.5 or -7.5” b.s., and the only space between SP+ and the line involves teams I don’t think SP+ has as good a read on.
