Thanks to an offensive explosion in the middle two quarters, the Ohio State Buckeyes ran past the Indiana Hoosiers, 51-10, on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.

Throwing three touchdowns and adding another on the ground, sophomore quarterback Justin Fields led the way with 210 total yards. Junior running back J.K. Dobbins scored two touchdowns and totaled 207 yards on 24 touches.

Starting in place of the injured Michael Penix, the Buckeyes were able to hold redshirt junior Peyton Ramsey without a touchdown pass. The Hoosiers couldn’t do much on the ground, either, rushing for just 42 yards. Ramsey and freshman Sampson James, the team’s co-leading rushers, finished with just 14 yards apiece.

Drawing a 2.5 metered rating, the Buckeyes’ trip to Bloomington allowed FOX to claim the highest-rated game in the 12:00PM ET time slot for the third consecutive week.

Tony Gerdeman, co-host of the Buckeye Weekly Podcast, shared the news from FOX Sports:

3-0 and ranked No. 6 in the country, yes, it certainly does help to have the Buckeyes.

Buckeye Nation will get to return to Columbus as Ohio State hosts Miami (Ohio) on Saturday (3:30PM ET, BTN), before resuming Big Ten play with a date with Nebraska in Lincoln on September 28.

Falling to 2-1 with the loss, the Hoosiers are still in position to reach their goal of making a bowl game. Welcoming UConn (1-1) to Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Indiana has a great opportunity to move to 3-1.
