The Cincinnati native announced his decision with a post on Twitter:

Smith, ranked as one of the top 400 players in the 2021 recruiting class, has received a plethora of major offers. Along with Ohio State, and Alabama, other schools like Oregon, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State and Oklahoma had shown interest. Many recent Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports now had the cornerback leaning towards Alabama.

Per 247Sports, Smith ranks as the No. 30 cornerback and No. 12 player out of Ohio for the recruiting cycle. Last season at La Salle High School, Smith totaled 72 tackles, five interceptions and forced two fumbles.

Ohio State’s 2021 class still ranks first nationally. Alabama’s currently ranks 19th.
