The weekend ended on a great note for Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes.
On Sunday night, 4-star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba gave his verbal pledge to Ohio State, announcing his commitment through a video posted on Twitter. He chose the Buckeyes over offers from 18 other programs, including two other B1G schools.
Smith-Njigba became the seventh member of the Buckeyes’ 2020 recruiting class.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Rockwall, Texas is considered to be one of the top 300 players in the 2020 recruiting class. He’s ranked No. 36 in the state of Texas, No. 59 among wide receivers and No. 288 overall.
Sunday was a huge day for the Buckeyes on the recruiting trail. Earlier in the day, 3-star running back Marcus Crowley flipped from Miami (FL) to Ohio State. He is a member of OSU’s 2019 recruiting class.
Prior to Smith-Njigba’s commitment, Ohio State owned the top recruiting class in the B1G for 2020. It also ranked third nationally.
Nebraska and Minnesota were the two other B1G programs offering the receiver. Notre Dame, TCU, Ole Miss and Boston College were among the others with interest in Smith-Njigba.
