Extra motivation? OSU's Dawand Jones says Purdue never offered a scholarship during recruitment
Ohio State’s Dawand Jones has a past with Purdue. Jones is a right tackle from Indianapolis that was a 3-star out of Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis per the 247Sports composite.
Jones revealed that during his high school recruitment, Purdue never offered a scholarship but offered him a spot as a walk-on. He said that he thinks about that a lot since he’s from Indiana. For what it’s worth, Jones had a number of Power 5 offers out of high school, including USC, Auburn, Michigan, Oregon, and Texas, among others.
