One Ohio State player has earned the right to shed his Black Stripe.

“I just want to thank God for letting me be out here with you guys man,” Christian said addressing the honor with his teammates.

The tradition of shedding the Black Stripe is unique to Ohio State. When players first join the team, a black stripe is placed on their helmet. Over the course of the season, they have the chance to shed the stripe and earn their official place as a Buckeye. Players must prove themselves both on and off the field to earn the honor.

Christian has now earned the honor and looks to have a successful career with the Buckeyes. He came into Ohio State as a 4-star TE according to the 247Sports Composite and is sure to see plenty of success.
