A former Buckeye RB is finally making a name for himself 3 weeks into the NFL season.

Trey Sermon got the start last night for the 49ers as they have been dealing with a litany of injuries at the RB spot.

Sermon scored his 1st NFL touchdown for the 49ers last night on Sunday Night Football against the Packers to make the game 24-21 in the middle of the 4th quarter.

The Niners went up on the Packers 28-27 with 37 seconds to go. That was no problem for Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers as he led a masterful drive with no timeouts in his hip pocket to set up Mason Crosby for the game-winning FG. Crosby drilled a 51 yarder for the  30-28 Packer win.

Sermon on the day finished with 10 carries for 31 yards and a touchdown.
While at Ohio State, Sermon ran the ball 116 times for 870 yards on 7.5 yards per carry with 4 touchdowns.

The 49ers host the Seahawks next week at 4:05 ET on FOX

The Packers host the Steelers next week at 4:25 ET on CBS.
