Former Ohio State DB Cameron Martinez reveals transfer destination
Former Ohio State defensive back Cameron Martinez is heading to Boston College.
Martinez opted to transfer after spending the last 4 seasons in Columbus. He accounted for 40 total tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 5 passes defended in 29 games played for the Buckeyes. Martinez announced his commitment to Boston College by writing out the program’s fight song on social media Saturday.
The former Ohio State safety was a member of the 2020 class out of Muskegon (Mich.) High. He came into Columbus as a 3-star athlete. The 247Sports Composite ranked him as the No. 14 athlete and No. 7 Michigan prospect in the class.
Martinez had B1G offers from Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue, and Wisconsin.

Luckily, Ohio State has some more defensive backs on the way in the 2024 class. Garrett Stover, cousin of Cade Stover, is a 4-star signee at safety. Aaron Scott, Bryce West, and Miles Lockhart are the other 4-star signees at DB. The Buckeyes also have 3-star signees in Jaylen McClain and Leroy Roker.
Ohio State faces Missouri in the Cotton Bowl to close out the 2023 campaign on Dec. 29.
