Former Ohio State star defensive back Damon Arnette may have to wait to make his NFL debut. The first-round selection in the 2020 Draft was listed on the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 1 injury report.

Sunday, the Raiders are scheduled to open their season against the Carolina Panthers. Arnette is listed as “limited” because of a thumb and groin injury, according to the report.

Arnette was the No. 19 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. He signed his four-year rookie deal worth $13.4 million with a signing bonus of $7.3 million.

Arnette was considering leaving Ohio State for the NFL following the 2018 season, but opted to return to Columbus for his final season with the Buckeyes. That decision paid off in a big way, as Arnette’s final year resulted in a first-round selection. He ended his career with the Bucks with 35 tackles, 8 pass break-ups, an interception and a forced fumble.

Ohio State finished the 2019 season with a 13-1 record and a berth in the College Football Playoff.
