Former Ohio State DB Malik Hooker has revived his career with the Dallas Cowboys. Now, he’s cashing in with a new extension ahead of the 2023 season.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Hooker and the Cowboys are in agreement on a new 3-year contract extension that can be worth up to $24 million. The deal includes an $8 million signing bonus to be paid within 15 days and $16.5 million guaranteed.

Hooker began his career as a first-round pick for the Indianapolis Colts in the 2017 NFL Draft. After being injured for most of the 2020 season, he signed with the Cowboys and has post strong numbers with the defense the past 2 seasons.

Hooker has appeared in 31 games for Dallas’ defense across the 2021-22 seasons with 4 interceptions. He tied a career-high with 3 interceptions during the 2022 season and posted a new career-high in tackles with 62 overall.

The Ohio State product finished 6th on Dallas’ defense in tackles last season for a unit that was top 5 in points allowed. Now, he’ll try to build on that moving forward.
