Former Ohio State and Kentucky offensive lineman Ben Christman has passed away, his new program, UNLV, confirmed on Wednesday.

Christman was a recent transfer to UNLV after spending 2 seasons in Lexington and previously 2 seasons at Ohio State. According to UNLV’s statement, Christman was found deceased at his off-campus apartment on Tuesday morning. At this time, the university does not have any additional details on the cause of death for Christman.

Christman came to UNLV to play for new head coach Dan Mullen who was making his return to coaching since last leading Florida from 2018-21. Mullen released a statement on Christman’s passing:

Our team’s heart is broken to hear of Ben’s passing. Since the day Ben set foot on our campus a month ago, he made the Rebels a better program. Ben was an easy choice for our Leadership Committee as he had earned the immediate respect, admiration and friendship of all his teammates. Our prayers go out to his family and all who knew him. Ben made the world a better place and he will be missed.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Christman’s family and the entire UNLV, Kentucky and Ohio State communities as they navigate this loss.
