Former Ohio State player shares moment he knew Ryan Day was 'not the answer'
Ohio State experienced another nightmarish loss to Michigan on Saturday, as the Buckeyes lost 13-10 at home despite being a 20-point favorite.
With the loss, Ryan Day is now 1-4 against Michigan, while sporting a 47-1 record against the rest of the B1G conference. People are upset and frustrated in Columbus, with a former player also calling out the Buckeyes coach.
Tyreke Johnson, who was on Ohio State’s team during the 2020 National Championship loss to Alabama, said on social media that he knew then Day wasn’t the guy for the job.
“Y’all can say I’m hating or whatever y’all want but I knew coach Day was not the answer when we played in the National Championship against Bama,” Johnson wrote. “And at half time he didn’t say a word to the team just went in the office and started to blame other coaches.”

There are many Ohio State fans and former players calling for the coach to be let go, but this is a different time in college football. If this was in the past, the Buckeyes’ season would be all but over. However, with this being the first year of the 12-team College Football Playoff, the Buckeyes still have a very good chance of making the field.
There will be a lot of conversation over the next few days about another frustrating loss to Michigan, but a run in the CFP would help get the critics off Day’s back.
