Former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett will be looking for a new home in the NFL again.
Over the weekend, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced that Barrett was one of eight players released by the organization. He had originally signed with the franchise’s practice squad in December 2019 and worked his way to a reserve/future contract.
Barrett has bounced around the league since his career at Ohio State came to an end following the 2017 season. The ex-Buckeye was not selected in the 2018 NFL Draft but eventually signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent.
Since then, Barrett has had stints with the Saints, Seattle Seahawks and Steelers.
Barrett had a tremendous career while at Ohio State. He accounted for 12,697 total yards and accounted for 147 total touchdowns. He helped lead the Buckeyes to a pair of B1G championships and a national title during his time in Columbus.
