Former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett is looking to find a new landing spot in the NFL.

According to NOLA.com, the New Orleans Saints released Barrett this week and placed receiver Tommylee Lewis on injured reserve. Both moves were done to make room for defensive lineman Jay Bromley and linebacker Darnell Sankey.

The Saints signed Barrett as an undrafted free agent. This is the second time he’s been released by the team. Two weeks ago, the quarterback was cut in order to clear up space. He was signed just a day later to the practice squad.

Barrett spent the offseason battling Taysom Hill and Tom Savage to be the backup behind Drew Brees. The Saints have also signed Teddy Bridgewater.

While at Ohio State, Barrett broke numerous records and led the Buckeyes to a pair of B1G titles. He was also instrumental in the team’s 2014 national championship run.

He was a three-time first-team All-B1G selection and was a three-time Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year in the B1G.
