Former Ohio State star Joey Bosa has found a new home.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Bosa, who was released last week by the Los Angeles Chargers, has signed with the Buffalo Bills. Per Schefter, it’s a 1-year deal for Bosa, worth $12.6 million. The San Francisco 49ers, the team of brother Nick Bosa, and Miami Dolphins had also been linked to the veteran defender.

The deal puts Bosa on the roster of a championship contender. He spent his first 9 professional seasons with the Chargers after being drafted No. 3 overall in 2016.

Bosa’s career got off to a sensational start. He recorded 10.5 sacks in 2016 over 12 games (11 starts), earning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Bosa followed that up in 2017 with 12.5 sacks, a career-high. He would log double-digit sacks against in 2019 (11.5) and 2021 (10.5).

Overall, Bosa has 72 sacks, 2nd most in Chargers franchise history. In his career, he has 343 combined tackles, with 87 for loss and 156 QB hits. Bosa was selected to the Pro Bowl 5 times (2017, ’19, ’20, ’21, ’24).

The Bills are hoping Bosa can stay healthy. He has played in only 28 games over the past 3 seasons.

Last season, Bosa made 14 appearances, including 9 starts. He managed 5 sacks on the season and 13 QB hits, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl after a 2-year absence.
