Now that his football days are behind him, Anthony Gonzalez is preparing for a new venture in life. This time, in politics.

According to Cleveland.com, Gonzalez – who was a wide receiver at Ohio State and with the Indianapolis Colts – has been holding meetings as he works towards occupying Ohio’s 16th congressional District. It is currently represented by Republican Jim Renacci.

Gonzalez has not made any public announcement about the potential to pursue a political career, but it’s been reported that he’s met with the National Republican Congressional and has expressed interest in running for office.

Since he retired from the NFL in 2012, Gonzalez received his MBA from Stanford University in 2014 and was the chief operating officer at an education technology firm in San Francisco.

Gonzalez played at Ohio State from 2004-2006 and caught 87 passes for 1,286 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career. His biggest year came in 2006, when he tallied 51 receptions for 734 yards and grabbed eight touchdown passes. He was drafted in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.

During his five-year NFL career with the Colts, Gonzalez had 99 catches for 1,307 yards and seven touchdowns.
