One former Buckeye is heading to his next destination in the NFL.

Tight end Jake Hausmann finished up his career at Ohio State in 2020 but went undrafted during the 2021 NFL Draft. He was originally signed by the Detroit Lions as a rookie free agent in May but was waived by the team on Friday.

Hausmann did not have to wait long to find his next home. He was claimed by the New York Giants on Saturday.

Hausmann originally joined Ohio State as a 4-star recruit out of Cincinnati for the class of 2016. He appeared in 27 career games with the Buckeyes.

Throughout his career, Hausmann was known more as a blocking tight end. He finished with just three career catches for 26 yards and a touchdown in Columbus. Hausmann’s lone catch in 2020 came in the win over Penn State.
