Former Ohio State WR Caleb Burton III has found a home in the SEC.

Burton, who entered the NCAA transfer portal during last month’s undergraduate window, announced Saturday that he will be continuing his college football career at Auburn. Hugh Freeze’s program has been active in the portal as the new coaching staff is working to reshape the AU roster.

An Austin, Texas native out of Lake Travis High School, Burton had 39 scholarship offers during his recruitment. He was rated 4-stars, the No. 21 wide receiver, No. 22 Lone Star State recruit and No. 132 prospect overall nationally in the 2022 recruiting class on the 247Sports composite rankings.

Burton signed with the Buckeyes in December 2021 and enrolled at OSU in January 2022. He did not record any statistics in his season at Ohio State.

This spring, Burton dealt with an injury. For Auburn, Burton will be a redshirt freshman in 2023 with 4 seasons of eligibility.
