Former Ole Miss defensive lineman and power hitter Tywone Malone announced Tuesday that he will continue his college career at Ohio State.

Malone, all 6-4, 300 pounds of him, will make for a nice addition to Larry Johnson’s line and will have 3 seasons of eligibility remaining in college. Malone was a top 100 prospect in the Class of 2021 and joins cornerback Davison Igbinosun as former Rebels to transfer to Columbus.

He revealed his intentions to transfer to Ohio State via Twitter Tuesday:

Malone played baseball at Ole Miss before leaving the team, the same year the Rebels won the national title. He totaled just 1 hit in 10 at-bats across his 2 years in Oxford. For now, it’s unclear whether he will play baseball at Ohio State.

On the gridiron, Malone has some chances for snaps next season in a reserve role. He’s totaled 13 tackles, 2 pass deflections and 2 sacks across his 2 seasons on the team.
