That strong preseason has also paved the way for McLaurin to start in Week 1 as a rookie. Rhiannon Walker with The Athletic tweeted that Washington head coach Jay Gruden announced he is taking over the “X” position following the release of Josh Doctson.

Hopefully, he hits the ground running and has a solid year as a rookie. McLaurin had 75 catches for 1,251 yards and 19 TDs with the Buckeyes. He was a consistent deep threat, averaging 16.7 yards per catch over his career.
