FOX CFB analyst lists 4 B1G players, 3 Buckeyes among Top 10 impact freshmen for 2021 season
RJ Young listed his top 10 impact freshman going into the 2021 season and 3 of them are Buckeyes, including the top 2.
At No. 1 is Jack Sawyer, who was one of the Buckeyes’ best recruits in their 2021 class. He was rated as a 5-star on 247Sports’ Composite Ranking and the 5th best high school player nationally as well. He’s had an excellent fall camp and looks poised to make a big impact on OSU’s defensive line.

TreVeyon Henderson out of Virginia is at No. 2 and he also was a 5-star running back in OSU’s 2021 class. He’ll be getting some carries this season, though it won’t be as much as someone like Master Teague, who has more experience at this point. That said, Henderson is a player that the Buckeyes are likely very high on and will be a key player in the next few seasons.
The other 2 B1G players on the list are J.T. Tuimoloau (No. 6) and Donovan Edwards (No. 8). Tuimoloau is another defensive line recruit who’s looking to log a lot of snaps this season, especially since he was the nation’s 4th ranked recruit.
As for Edwards, he was one of the nation’s top running backs in the 2021 class (No. 4) and with the Wolverines needing stability at that position, he looks like a player who could tear it up.
