Dabo Swinney made it clear that he does not believe Ohio State should be a top-four team this week, and the FOX crew discussed his comments during Saturday’s Big Noon Kickoff show.

Dabo might have an issue with Ohio State’s current resume, but Matt Leinart does not share those concerns. He pointed out that the 2020 season was always going to be tough, but the tape doesn’t lie:

“We always knew that this year the Committee would have a really difficult task with the discrepancy of games…when I look at the resume, two top-25 wins, we know Indiana was a really good win, that was a really good team. Northwestern in the top 20 right now,” said Leinart. “And when we turn on the tape…what do you see? I see a top-four team.”

Reggie Bush echoed a similar sentiment, pointing out that if Notre Dame and Ohio State had played the same number of games, the Buckeyes would clearly be ranked higher:

“I like Ohio State as one of the top four teams, and the only reason I have Notre Dame ranked higher is because (Ohio State) won’t play as many games as Notre Dame,” explained Bush. “Now if Notre Dame and Ohio State played the same amount of games, Ohio State would be better. ”

As has always been the rationale used for the Playoff, Urban Meyer said the goal is the four best teams. With that in mind, it is obvious Ohio State is one of the best four and the debate should end:

“The job of the College Football Playoff Committee is to get the four best teams,” said Meyer. “There’s no doubt they’re one of the four best, the argument should stop there.”
