Ohio State basketball just made a huge statement with a blowout win over No. 10 Villanova.

After a 2-0 start, the Buckeyes are up to No. 16 on the AP Poll for basketball. Wednesday night, Ohio State took on Villanova in a key non-conference matchup, and it was the Buckeyes that ran away with the contest.

The Buckeyes carried an 18-point lead into halftime and finished with a 76-51 win over the Wildcats. True freshman D.J. Carton provided the fireworks in the blowout.

Coming off the bench, Carton had 11 points with five assists and four rebounds. He also displayed his hops on this slam.

It was a nice backdoor cut that freed Carton up. A nice bounce pass found him in the lane, and he elevated over two Villanova players with an emphatic, one-handed jam.
