Ohio State is sitting at No. 4 in the College Football Playoff Rankings; the team that is at No. 3 is the only team that has beaten Ohio State this season Oregon.

ESPN’s College GameDay crew debated whether or not the Buckeyes should jump the Ducks at this point.

“Not regardless of what Oregon does (vs. Utah),” said Desmond Howard. “If Oregon is impressive against Utah, I think they hold serve, even if Michigan State loses to Ohio State. I think the committee has shown you how they feel about Oregon, That’s why they’ve stayed where they are. Unless (Oregon) loses, I don’t see Ohio State jumping them.”

David Pollack thinks it could happen by the end of the year, but probably not by Tuesday, when the next rankings are released.

“I could see it at the end of the season, said Pollack. “If Ohio State beats Michigan State, beats Michigan and wins the B1G Championship Game, then I think you could say the resume — they jump them. But not yet.”

Lee Corso thinks Ohio State is even better than what the other 2 analysts have said.

“Ohio State is the No. 2 team in the nation,” said Corso. “There’s no question about it.”

Whatever happens in the next 3 weeks, it’s sure to be wacky and wild, and someone who believes they should have been let into the invitational is going to be left out.
