Garrett Wilson defers to C.J. Stroud on Heisman conversation: 'He makes me look good'
Garret Wilson has had a great year for Ohio State in his junior season. Wilson has 813 yards receiving and 9 touchdown through 10 games this season.
With the award nominees being announced earlier in the week, Wilson was asked if his name should be among those considered for the Heisman Trophy. However, instead of campaigning for himself, he talked about the play of his redshirt freshman quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Griffin Strom of the Eleven Warriors put Wilson’s response to the question on Twitter Tuesday.
Does Garrett Wilson think he should be a Heisman candidate? “Nah, it’s gotta be the QB. … He makes me look good.”

Stroud definitely has a case for the Heisman, and wouldn’t be the first freshman to win the award either. Stroud has 3,036 yards passing with 30 touchdowns and 5 interceptions in his first year.
He’ll be competing with the likes of Bryce Young, Kenneth Walker III, Matt Corral, and even his teammate TreVeyon Henderson to name some few.
We’ll see if Stroud can keep up the good work with No. 7 Michigan State coming to town. No. 4 Ohio State (9-1) and No. 7 Michigan State (9-1) meet in ‘The Shoe’ Saturday at 12 p.m. ET on ABC.
