Ohio State gave quarterback C.J. Stroud the week off against Akron, and early signs indicate the rest has helped provide a nice boost.

In place of Stroud, Kyle McCord started and threw for more than 300 yards with 2 TDs. Jack Miller III also saw action as the Buckeyes rolled Akron 59-7.

Now, the hope is that Stroud’s shoulder will be much better for the game against Rutgers and beyond. After Wednesday’s practice, star wide receiver Garrett Wilson discussed how Stroud performed.

According to Wilson, Stroud looked really good and said it was “the best he’s been spinning it in a while.”

Hopefully, Stroud is good to go on Saturday and doesn’t experience setbacks down the road.
