Garrett Wilson made a splash on Sunday, scoring on the opening drive to give the Jets an early lead over the Bears.

After Jets starting QB Zach Wilson was benched due to poor play last week, the Jets pivoted to backup QB Mike White. White has made a regular target of the former Ohio State WR, including hitting Wilson for an 11-yard gain on Sunday. White went 6-for-7 for 69 yards on the Jets’ opening drive, capped off with a quick bullet to Wilson, who was wide open in the end zone.

Sunday’s touchdown wasn’t the first impressive play for the rookie WR this season. Wilson is one of only two rookie wide receivers to record 2 games with at least 100 receiving yards this season.

The WR caught 8 receptions for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns in against the Browns, and in the Week 8 loss to New England, Wilson tallied 6 receptions for 115 yards.

Wilson is certainly paying off for the Jets, who drafted him 10th overall in the 2022 Draft after a successful collegiate career at Ohio State. In his sophomore season, Wilson became just the second Buckeye ever to record four straight games with at least 100 yards receiving.
