Gee Scott Jr. opens Ohio State's scoring with impressive over-the-shoulder TD grab
Gee Scott Jr. received the start at tight end for Ohio State’s game against Rutgers, and he has already flashed some solid hands against the Scarlet Knights.
Heading into Saturday’s game, it was announced that star TE Cade Stover is banged up and donning a brace on his right knee. While Stover was not listed on Ohio State’s status report, he did not start after going through warm-ups with Scott rolling with the first-team offense.
In the first quarter, Scott produced the first touchdown of the game on a beautiful connection with QB Kyle McCord. Scott found himself in a one-on-one situation on the outside, and McCord gave his guy a shot to make a play.
The throw by McCord was perfectly placed over the top of the defender, and it was placed where only Scott could make the play inbounds. Scott did secure the catch just inside the end zone and maintained the over-the-shoulder grab to the ground.
