Urban Meyer may not be coaching at Ohio State any longer, but he certainly still has the same mindset when it comes to The Game. There’s nothing he values more in his career than those wins against the program he refuses to mention by name.

During his career at Ohio State, Meyer was a perfect 7-0 against Michigan, winning four of those games over current Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh. It’s an accomplishment he talks about often, and one of the most important in his coaching career.

Recently, Meyer sat down with 10TV’s Dom Tiberi to talk about his role in the rivalry game with the annual Ohio State-Michigan contest on the horizon. And when he was asked where his perfect record against UM ranks on his list of accomplishments, Meyer put it at the to.

“It’s No. 1,” Meyer said. “I was raised that you can lose all games but you can never lose that game. Obviously that’s not true anymore, that’s really never been true. But I was brainwashed. I was raised in the Woody Hayes era, that was the enemy.”

Meyer has won three national titles (two at Florida, one at Ohio State), and won three B1G championships during his career. But he still maintains that, because of the significance of The Game, a 7-0 record is the thing he cherishes most.

Michigan has not won a game in the series since 2011 and has gotten just one victory in the last 15 years. Saturday, the Buckeyes will put a perfect 11-0 record on the line in Ann Arbor as the Wolverines attempt to get their first win of the series in eight years.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
