Ohio State fans are passionate about their school and their football team. There’s a lot of pride about all-things Buckeyes in Columbus.
That includes the Ohio State Marching Band. You might know them as “The Best Damn Band in the Land.” And if you say something not-so flattering about them, you’re going to get some criticism.
Gus Johnson was the play-by-play voice for Ohio State’s season opener against FAU on Saturday afternoon. And while the band was on the field, he paid the marchers a strong compliment, saying it was one of the best in the country. But a comment he made after that got Buckeye fans aggrevated.
Johnson went on to say that Texas A&M has the best marching band in college athletics. That obviously didn’t sit well with a lot of OSU fans watching the broadcast. Here were some of the reactions:
