Heather Dinich broke down what needs to happen for Ohio State to reach the CFP after losing to Michigan over the weekend.

The CFP analyst said that it’s still possible for the Buckeyes to find their way into the College Football Playoff, but they will need some outside help, just like they got last year. Dinich explained what needs to happen on Get Up Tuesday morning.

She said Tuesday night’s updated CFP rankings could be telling for how far away Ohio State is from reaching the Playoff.

“My biggest question is how far does Ohio State fall in tonight’s rankings,” Dinich said. “I don’t think they’ll fall lower than 6, but that will be a big clue as to whether or not they can be taken seriously to get in this thing.”

Dinich credited Ohio State’s resume, pointing to the Notre Dame and Penn State wins. Even with those big wins, she says the Buckeyes will need some help in other conference championship games.

“They do have wins obviously against Penn State, Notre Dame,” Dinich said. “That was the blueprint for them to get in last year without beating Michigan or winning the Big Ten East or the conference title. But last year they needed help too. It wasn’t just those wins, it was USC losing to Utah on Friday night in the Pac-12 Championship game. Ohio State is not getting in this thing without help.”
