Need not worry, Buckeye fans. Kirk Herbstreit is a believer in his alma mater, especially Ezekiel Elliott.

The ESPN college football analyst said on “Mike and Mike” on Wednesday that the Buckeye tailback will win the Heisman Trophy in 2015. Herbstreit said that it would come down to either Elliott or LSU tailback Leonard Fournette and that “Zeke” would ultimately win it. Fellow college football analyst Rece Davis agreed that Elliott is his Heisman pick.

Elliot, of course set the college football world on fire when he recorded rushing records in the Big Ten Championship, Sugar Bowl and College Football Playoff National Championship.

Elliott and TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin are the co-favorites to win the Heisman at +500 odds.

“The Herbie’s,” wherein Herbstreit will dish out his annual preseason award predictions, will be on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN.

In terms of preseason predictions, Davis addressed those that aren’t picking Ohio State to win the national title.

“There’s no reason to expect them not to repeat, logically,” he said.

Fair point.
