Ohio State coach Larry Johnson made history on Saturday afternoon, becoming the first black coach to lead the Buckeyes on game day in their history.
Johnson is filling in for coach Ryan Day, who is out with COVID-19. He’s expected to be able to coach next weekend.
With Johnson in charge, OSU dominated Michigan State in 52-12 to move to 5-0 on the season.
Justin Fields was excellent with his arm and his legs. He completed 17-of-24 passes for 199 yards and two scores. He also rushed the ball 13 times for 104 yards and two more touchdowns.
Oklahoma transfer Trey Sermon also had a great day, eclipsing 100 yards rushing for the first time as a Buckeye.

Larry Johnson said he got a tear in his eye when he realized in the third quarter that Ohio State was on track to win the game, because he knew how much playing this week meant to the players.
