Here’s what Ryan Day said during ‘lightning-round’ press conference

No. 5 Ohio State coming off a bye week and will travel to face Indiana on Oct. 23 (7:30 p.m. EST/ABC).
Ohio State coach Ryan Day addressed the media on Oct. 21 in advance of the conference road game. The coach touched on a variety of subjects, from using physical binders for plays to his team’s COVID-19 vaccination status.
Here’s a sampling of what Day had to say:
Day said “it was the right thing” to switch to physical, paper binders to help prepare during the week of games.

Ryan Day on last year’s game against Indiana: “We just didn’t do a good job of finishing the game… (Ohio State has) a defense that’s built to limit explosive plays, and we gave up too many explosives.” Says the Buckeyes need to do a better job finishing than they did last year.

Ryan Day said Tyreke Smith has “had a good week of practice” after missing the last three games. Said the second half of the season will be a big stretch for Smith as he looks to finish his Ohio State career strong.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said everyone on the team is vaccinated with the exception of a “player or two” looking to get an exemption.
