Here’s what Ryan Day said following Ohio State’s B1G Championship victory over Northwestern

That was not pretty, but Ohio State found a way to get the job done.
The main way the Buckeyes picked to get the job done against Northwestern Saturday was by leaning on running back Trey Sermon. As quarterback Justin Fields was banged up and off-target in the game without star receiver Chris Olave, Sermon put Ohio State on his back in the second half.
Sermon rolled to an Ohio State single-game record of 331 yards and the only two touchdowns scored by the Buckeyes in the game. He broke the previous record of 314 yards set by Eddie George in 1995.
Now, Ryan Day and company will just have to wait and see if the College Football Playoff Committee believes Ohio State did enough in six games to be selected as one of the four best teams in the nation. That is now out of their hands as the Buckeyes took care of the Wildcats and did their part in winning the B1G title.
Here is what Day had to say following the fourth straight conference title for the Buckeyes:
Ryan Day hints that the Big Ten 21-day rule is being discussed. Says it's being looked at really hard. Gene Smith pushed hard for change last week. Will be a big decision looming for Big Ten next week.

Ryan Day says the Big Ten is looking "very hard" at possibly changing the rule that keeps players who have a positive COVID-19 test out for a minimum of 21 days.

Ryan Day indicates that some of the players who were unable to play today became unavailable late in the week.

Ryan Day said “it's a mixed bag” of whether players who were unavailable today would be able to return for the College Football Playoff if the Big Ten does not change the 21-day rule. He says the Big Ten is looking at that rule “very hard.”

Ryan Day on Justin Fields' thumb injury: “Hopefully he'll recover pretty quickly from that.”
He said he isn't sure what Master Teague's status will be going forward, but they'll see what the doctors say over the next couple days.
