'He's got the biggest bullseye ever on his chest': Ryan Day says Chase Young will get each team's best shot after Wisconsin performance
There’s been no stopping Chase Young through the first eight games of the season. The Ohio State defensive end is easily the most disruptive player in college football at the moment.
Young has received incredible praise over the last few days, following an unbelievably dominant performance against Wisconsin on Saturday. He tallied five tackles for loss, four sacks and forced two fumbles in a 38-7 win for the Buckeyes.
After that game, Young was included in the Heisman Trophy conversation.

Ryan Day says that having a player like Young on the defensive line completely changes the game and allows the rest of the defense to play a little faster. He said that having that type of presence up front is only effective if he’s able to be disruptive.
“Having a player like Chase play the way he has clearly changes the game and makes everybody on that defense better,” Day said at his weekly press conference. “You have to account for him on every play.”
Obviously, Young has had no issue making an impact each and every week. Through the first eight games, Young leads the nation with 13.5 sacks and has totaled 15.5 stops for loss. He’s also forced five fumbles and made 29 total tackles.
But Day says that Young now has to be prepared for every team’s best shot after a performance like the one he had against Wisconsin. Everyone is going to try and take him out of the game for the rest of the season.
“Now he’s got the biggest bull’s-eye he’s ever had on his chest,” Day said.
Ohio State has an off week on Saturday before hitting its final four-game stretch. The Buckeyes have games against Maryland and Rutgers before tougher tests against No. 5 Penn State and No. 14 Michigan.
