The NFL decided how one of its players will honor his dead father.

Cam Heyward, a former Buckeye, made national headlines a couple weeks ago when he was fined by the league for wearing eyeblack that read “Iron Head.” It was a tribute to his later father, who died of cancer in 2006.

Still, the NFL fined him the maximum amount for a uniform violation.

On Tuesday night, Heyward tweeted that he will no longer be wearing eye black and that he’ll be honoring his dad by starting a charity campaign with “Iron Head” eyeblack on Eyeblack.com. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to his foundation, the Heyward House. Those funds are split between the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation.
